Malladi Satya Srinivas is among the fortunate few who are related to and have had the opportunity to work closely to some of the most respected names of Telugu culture. He comes from a culturally rich family: his maternal great grandfather is Veena Vidhwan Sri Eemani Sankara Sastry, his paternal great grandfather is respected astrologer Sri Malladi Chandrasekhara Sastry, and his cousin, was the much-loved film director, Late Sri Jandhyala.
Satya Srinivas is himself a student of classical music, having earned his diploma in Music (Veena) and learned to play the Mridangam under Sri Yella Venkateswara Rao garu. His interest in music and movies led him to work with his cousin Sri Jandhyala and learn the ropes from him. He has worked as assistant to many great directors: Sri Raghavendra Rao, Sri Vamsy, and Sri Bapu. He has co-directed a number of television serials and films.
Having grown up on a diet of Mullapudi's writing s and Bapu films, Satya Srinivas was elated when he was approached to read Kothikommachi.
